Damen verkoopt GENE CHASER yacht support ship

Stel je toch voor dat je op je superjacht vaart en plotseling blijken al je laboratoria vol te zijn. Dat is vervelend. Maar de eigenaar van GENE CHASER, een 55 meter lang Yacht Support van Damen, heeft dat probleem niet meer. Het schip in de afgelopen maanden omgebouwd tot een platform voor onderzoek. Basis is de YS 5009 Yacht Support range van Damen Yachting.

Eind vorig jaar liet Damen het schip al te water als BLUE OCEAN, maar nu het verkocht is, heet het dus GENE CHASER. Aan boord zijn een nat en een droog laboratorium en ook is er ruimte voor scholing en conferenties. Want het jacht wordt een plaats voor onderzoek. Kennis is namelijk ook de grote bron van geld voor de eigenaar. Die kocht eerder de GENE MACHINE bij Damen. Dat is een Amels 180 superjacht.

De miljardair achter beide jachten, Dr. Jonathan Rothberg, verdiende zijn geld met apparatuur die heel snel DNA kan analyseren. Het verklaart ook meteen de link met genen in de namen van beide schepen.
